For more than 50 years, STRUCTAflor® has been an integral part of Australia’s building industry, setting the benchmark for strength, durability and consistency in structural flooring. Recognised across construction sites nationwide by its distinctive Yellow Tongue, STRUCTAflor® continues to lead the way in engineered particleboard flooring that builders trust to perform.

Since its launch in 1973, STRUCTAflor® has earned a reputation for reliability and performance. Its colour-coded tongue system: Yellow Tongue, Red Tongue and Blue Tongue has quickly become a hallmark of quality on Australian building sites.
This enduring success is driven by Porta’s commitment to continuous innovation. Advances in resin technology allowed STRUCTAflor® to be installed earlier in the build process, improving efficiency and reducing time on site. Over the decades, the range has evolved to meet diverse project needs, including STRUCTAflor® General Purpose, H2 Termite Protected and Ultimate, each designed to deliver long-lasting results for Australian conditions.
STRUCTAflor® is proudly manufactured at Porta’s Oberon facility in regional New South Wales, home to Australia’s largest particleboard production line. Oberon has been synonymous with the timber industry since the 1920s, when the first Pinus Radiata plantations were established. Today, those renewable plantations continue to supply the resource that supports STRUCTAflor®’s success.
The first STRUCTAflor® boards were traditional tongue and groove sheets. Through ongoing research and development, the product evolved to include plastic tongues, moisture-resistant resins and resin-enriched surfaces. Thus, it creates flooring that stands up to the challenges of modern construction and Australia’s varied climates.
STRUCTAflor® is more than just particleboard; it is a complete flooring system. Every sheet is made from precision-milled wood flakes bonded with moisture-resistant resin and finished with wax-sealed edges for additional protection. The result is flooring that is strong, dimensionally stable and built to withstand Australia’s toughest building environments.
The range offers versatile solutions for subfloors, suspended floors in multi-storey buildings, extensions, renovations and commercial applications. Builders benefit from faster installation, lighter construction and reduced foundation requirements, saving both time and cost without compromising quality.

STRUCTAflor® is manufactured from plantation-grown pine, sourced from renewable and responsibly managed forests. Offcuts and by-products are recycled back into production, reducing waste and supporting circular manufacturing practices. With low-formaldehyde options and ongoing efficiency improvements, STRUCTAflor® reflects Porta’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and resource stewardship.
STRUCTAflor® is the only product in Australia certified to AS 1860.1 Structural Particleboard Flooring. Its Yellow Tongue is also independently certified for use as a structural bracing panel. These certifications, along with strong partnerships across the building industry, reinforce STRUCTAflor’s reputation as a flooring solution that performs where it matters most.
As STRUCTAflor® celebrates over 50 years of excellence, it remains the trusted choice for builders seeking reliability, performance and innovation. With a proud Australian heritage and a future focused on sustainability and quality, STRUCTAflor® continues to shape the standard in particleboard flooring, trusted for generations and built for the future.
